Trading Journal for NinjaTrader 8
Every fill logged, tagged and reviewed without leaving your NinjaTrader workspace.
Most traders keep a journal in a spreadsheet they stop updating by the second week. The friction is the problem: the trade happens in NinjaTrader, and the record of it happens somewhere else, later, from memory.
This add-on closes that gap. It reads your executions straight from NinjaTrader 8 and builds the journal as you trade, so the record is already written by the time the session ends. What is left for you is the part that actually matters — saying why you took the trade, and reading back what you said last time.
What it does
- Automatic execution capture
- Entries, exits, partial fills, commissions and slippage are pulled from the account as they happen. Nothing is typed in twice.
- Tag your setups
- Attach your own tags to a trade and the statistics regroup around them, so you can see which setups carry the account and which ones only feel good.
- Notes and screenshots
- Write the reasoning while the trade is still open. The chart image is captured with it, so the note has context when you read it back a month later.
- Session and period statistics
- Win rate, expectancy, average R, maximum adverse excursion and drawdown, broken out by instrument, session and tag.
- Exports that outlive the platform
- Everything writes out to CSV on demand. Your journal is your data and it is never locked inside the add-on.
